Thank you, everyone, for your patience as World Partners has worked to coordinate this undertaking to support our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico!  We are FINALLY ready to start assigning teams!

Here’s the plan.  We’re looking for nine teams to work at three churches.  They’re all in the east, and the housing for all of them will be in the same place.  As such, we can only send one team at a time, regardless of which of the three churches is being worked on. Leslie Foster, World Partners International Service Administrator, is the point person to coordinate scheduling for teams. Contact Leslie at worldpartners.isa@gmail.com.

We are looking for teams of ten people to go for 8-9 days, arriving in Puerto Rico on a Saturday and returning the following Saturday or Sunday (if you can return Sunday, that gives us six work days; if your team needs to return Saturday, we’ll have 5 work days).  The earliest we can send a team is January 27th.  We will keep sending teams as long as volunteers are available, funds are there, and things still need to be fixed in Puerto Rico.

Cost for a volunteer to participate is $1000.  This covers airfare, lodging, food, transportation in Puerto Rico, and a community event (cookout-type event, handing out emergency food supplies, etc.).

The costs of the building supplies and tools will be covered by the donations to World Partners for church relief and by the insurance money some of the churches will be receiving.  We are still happily accepting donations to help with Hurricane Maria relief!

REMINDERS:

~No one with asthma or other respiratory issues should apply.

~Moderate to heavy manual labor in a warm and humid environment will be required.

~The leadership in PR has requested adult volunteers (high school graduates or older).  As a result, we will not be sending any teen or youth teams.  However, responsible 17- or 18-year-olds will be considered for adult teams on a case by case basis.  Please contact Leslie for more information.

If you want to register a team please send the following information via email:

  1. How many teams?

2. From which church/es?

3. Requested dates

  1. Any specific construction skills within the team.
  2. Which airports can your team fly from?

If you have fewer than ten volunteers, contact Leslie to make arrangements for adding your people to another team.

Leslie will work with you to add your team to the schedule and begin next steps.

We look forward to hearing from you, and watching God work!
