• Do you love Jesus?
• Can you be content in simple circumstances?
• Are you looking for an experience where you can serve others and explore a new culture?
• Can you work well with children?
If you answered yes to these questions, you might be a good MK homeschool facilitator!
Theo and Bri Makombe, World Partners missionary staff in Rwanda, are looking for an intern to come work with their three children: Bell (12), Shey (10), and Remy (7).Having someone to help the kids with school will free Bri up to put more time into discipleship ministry with women in the community.
How Much Does It Cost?
An intern would stay in a private apartment on the Makombes’ property. One-time expenses (airfare, COVID testing, etc.) are estimated to be around $2,000. If a passport is needed, the cost is $110.
Monthly living costs, including housing, utilities, food, phone, personal care, transportation, and “fun” money, will be $300/month.
A commitment for a school year is ideal, but the Makombes will welcome an intern that can stay as few as three months.
Is It Safe?
With all that is happening around the world, this is a fair question. The short answer is, yes.
To be more precise, at the time this document was prepared, Rwanda’s CDC-assigned COVID level was 2: moderate risk (at the same time, the risk level in the US was 4: very high). Interns will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID, as well as yellow fever, hepatitis A, typhoid, and have a recent tetanus booster.
Politically, Rwanda is currently very stable. World Partners monitors political climates closely, and should the situation change, appropriate steps to ensure the safety of both our short-term and long-term staff will be taken.
