In April, a team of four from World Partners in conjunction with the World Baseball Academy conducted a baseball clinic for the youth of Kazanlak. The team was hosted by World Partners staff in Bulgaria, Pete and Ursula Hubley.

While the game of baseball was originally a foreign concept in Bulgaria, for the youth in the city of Kazanlak it has become a regular sport and continues to be a way for World Partners staff there to connect with the youth.

Three schools with hundreds of youth participated in the clinics with the team. While time was spent learning more about baseball and practicing, the topic of “Leadership On and Off the Field” was also addressed. This topic can lead to further discussions with the youth about character, morals, and integrity, which can open the door for additional topics, including individual spiritual conversations and pre-discipleship relationships.
