PRAYER & PRAISE:
1. Praise the Lord for a great time at the District Prayer Retreat. It was a blessing to those who were able to attend and draw closer to God as they learned about and participated in prayer.
2. A team of WORLD PARTNERS VOLUNTEERS will be heading to NEPAL on September 9 for a construction project. Please pray that all the details will come together for this trip.
3. TED UMMEL, member of the MISSIONARY CHURCH GENERAL OVERSIGHT COUNCIL, is continuing his battle with cancer. The cancer is now very active. The transplant option is on hold pending the success of a series of chemo treatments that were started last week. These treatments require a four to six week hospital stay and the transplant will only be considered if the chemo puts all segments of the leukemia into remission for at least four weeks after the hospitalization. Please pray that the treatments would be effective and that God would give Ted extra strength as he goes through these days. May the medical personnel have God's wisdom and direction for his treatments.The District Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

MIZPAH MISSIONARY CHURCH, CASS CITY - PASTOR ART WRIGHT is the interim pastor at Mizpah.
IGLESIA EVANGELICA MISIONERA de KALAMAZOO - PASTOR CARLOS SALAZAR (ELIZIBETH) was commissioned, on August 25, to serve as their new pastor.
LAMOTTE MISSIONARY CHURCH, MARLETTE - The church is working through the search process.
MIDLAND MISSIONARY CHURCH - A retirement celebration will be held for REV. FRED & GLENICE BECKNELL on September 11. The search team is actively interviewing candidates.
ROYAL OAK MISSIONARY CHURCH - REV. BILL & LORIE BARNWELL will begin their ministry at ROMC this Sunday. A commissioning service is planned for September 12.
NEW FAITH CHAPEL, ROMULUS - REV. JIM THOMPSON is serving as the interim pastor. The search process will resume later this fall.

5. 2010 GIRLFRIENDS GET-AWAY retreats are scheduled for October 15-16
or October 22-23 at ELIJAH'S REST near OAK BEACH in the Thumb. CEDAR BEND FARM of MANCELONA will host the November 5-6 Get-Away in the North Country. These retreats are designed to minister to pastors' wives, giving them a chance to mingle with other ministry wives and come away for a time of refreshing and sharing. BEN RZENDZIAN, a college student and the son of PASTOR JOHN RZENDZIAN (GRACE COMMUNITY MISSIONARY CHURCH, BAD AXE), is available to serve as a volunteer intern in the area of youth ministry in a Michigan District church.
